Office & Home Office Wall Art
You look at the wall above your desk more than at any other wall in your home – during calls, while thinking, between two tasks. Calm office wall art in soft colours gives your eyes a place to rest without pulling your attention away from work. Drag the slider to see the same home office empty and with my hand-painted watercolor prints.
Choosing office wall art for a home office
For a workspace I recommend motifs that are calm rather than busy: soft landscapes, clouds, botanicals or a pair of fish in gentle blues and greens. Blue and green are easy on the eyes on long working days, and a touch of warm yellow keeps the room friendly. Pick up a colour that is already on your desk – the wood, a lamp, a notebook – so the art feels like part of the room.
Which size above a desk?
Above a desk of 100–120 cm (39–47 in), a set of two prints in 30 × 40 cm (12 × 16 in) or 40 × 50 cm (16 × 20 in) works well. Hang the frames about 25–30 cm (10–12 in) above the desk top, so a lamp or screen does not cover them. Hanging the two frames at slightly different heights, as in the room above, looks relaxed and less formal.
A backdrop for video calls
If you work from home, the wall behind you is also the wall your colleagues see. One calm set of prints gives a tidy, personal background on video calls – much nicer than a bare wall, and less distracting than a busy shelf.
Motifs for a workspace
My Japandi cloud landscapes bring quiet focus to a minimalist desk, and my sets of 2 fit most desks and smaller rooms. For an office with coastal touches, have a look at my fish and ocean prints.
